The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), established by the Tamil Nadu State Legislature under Act No. 43 of 1997, is dedicated to advancing legal education and research. It was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri K.R. Narayanan, the former President of India, on September 20, 1997. The university, which began functioning on October 3, 1997, is recognized by both the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC), meeting Section 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act.

The Department of Environmental Law and Legal Order, established in 2006, is one of the prominent postgraduate departments at TNDALU. It specializes in environmental law, aiming to promote environmental awareness and literacy. The department offers a platform for fostering knowledge and practical skills in the field of environmental law.

Call for Book Chapters

The Department of Environmental Law and Legal Order invites contributions for an edited volume titled “The Global Energy Shift in Climate Change: Challenges and Prospects.” This volume seeks to engage academic scholars, legal practitioners, and industry experts in exploring legal and policy challenges related to climate change and energy needs. It provides an opportunity for authors to present governance frameworks, legal perspectives, and sustainable strategies aimed at addressing the global climate and energy crises.

The book intends to bridge the gap between industry professionals, policymakers, and academics, fostering collaboration and supporting the development of practical solutions for environmental conservation. The focus is on the evolving legal principles, socio-economic transformations, and the need for legal reforms to address the global challenges of climate change and energy crises.

Important Details:

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: May 2, 2025
  • Manuscript Submission Deadline: May 30, 2025 (10,000-12,000 words)
  • Review Process: A panel of experts will review all submissions. Authors will be notified of acceptance.
  • Co-authorship: Allowed with a maximum of two authors.
  • Citation Style: ILI citation style must be followed throughout the manuscript.
  • Plagiarism Limit: Plagiarism must be restricted to 15%. Any content exceeding this will be rejected.
  • Formatting Guidelines: Use Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, with 1-inch margins on all sides of an A4 sheet. Graphics, tables, and diagrams should be numbered and incorporated within the manuscript.
  • Publication: The chapters will be published with an ISBN number.

Submission Process: Submissions must be made in Word format (.doc). Authors will receive a complimentary soft copy of the book upon publication, with the option to purchase a hard copy.
