Ahimsa Fellowship 2025 – Transformative Leadership in Animal Protection

About the Fellowship:
The Ahimsa Fellowship is an 8-month rigorous leadership program designed to equip passionate individuals across India to champion animal protection through law enforcement, advocacy, and policy reform. Powered by People For Animals Public Policy Foundation and supported by key animal welfare organizations, this fellowship offers hands-on training in legal research, litigation, public policy, advocacy tools, and movement-building.

With 46 alumni already making impactful contributions nationwide, the fellowship focuses on experiential and peer learning, leadership development, and building a strong national network of animal protection advocates.


Who Should Apply?

  • Graduates from any discipline

  • Age between 21 and 39 years

  • Strong communication skills in English and preferably a regional language

  • Committed to full-time participation for the entire 8-month program

  • Especially encouraged: individuals with legal backgrounds seeking experience in animal law and advocacy


What You Get:

  • Mentorship from leading experts in animal protection and allied fields

  • Monthly stipend (₹10,000 for first 2 months; ₹20,000 thereafter)

  • Hands-on experiential learning and advocacy practice

  • Peer learning and networking with past and current Fellows

  • Access to a national network of animal protection organizations

  • Support for placements in animal advocacy careers

  • Travel and accommodation covered for residential sessions
