The United Nations Human Rights Council is inviting applications for the mandate of:
Special Rapporteur on the implications for human rights of the environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes
(Mandated by Human Rights Council resolution 54/10)
This mandate focuses on examining and reporting on the human rights implications arising from exposure to hazardous substances and waste, and advancing accountability and environmentally sound management practices globally.
Appointment
The appointment will be made at the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council (15 June – 10 July 2026).

Applications must be submitted through the official online process, which includes:
