About the Role
DSK Legal is inviting applications for the position of Associate (International Trade and Customs) at its Delhi office. The position is suitable for candidates with 0–2 years of post-qualification experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Advise clients on international trade laws, customs regulations, export-import policies, and trade remedies (including anti-dumping, countervailing duties, and safeguards), as well as Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and Regional Trade Agreements (RTA).
- Assist with compliance under Indian customs laws, the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and WTO regulations.
- Draft and review trade-related agreements, contracts, and legal submissions involving cross-border transactions.
- Represent clients in trade disputes, investigations, and proceedings before authorities such as the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Customs Authorities, appellate tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on emerging trade policies, sanctions, tariffs, and regulations affecting global supply chains.
Eligibility Criteria
- LL.B. from a recognized university
- 6 to 18 months of post-qualification experience in international trade or customs law
- Additional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA) are preferred
- Strong understanding of bilateral/multilateral trade agreements, Indian customs laws, FTP, and WTO frameworks
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
