Animal Cruelty Response Officer – People for Animals (PFA)
About the Position
People for Animals (PFA) is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Animal Cruelty Response Officer to address complaints related to animal cruelty, neglect, and abuse. The selected candidate will play a key role in arbitrating cases, collaborating with law enforcement, and advocating for animal welfare.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution (Preference: Law Graduates).
- Experience: Prior voluntary or professional experience in handling animal cruelty cases.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of animal welfare laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Skills: Excellent investigative and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment: Must align with PFA’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Address general animal cruelty complaints, including wrongful restrictions on companion animals in housing societies.
- Use legal form letters and other methods to uphold animal rights.
- Coordinate with local animal protection groups and volunteers to file complaints.
- Provide immediate care to distressed animals, including medical assistance and shelter.
- Educate the public about animal welfare laws, caretaker rights and responsibilities, and the importance of reporting cruelty.
- Develop and implement strategies for preventing animal cruelty and enhancing community awareness.
