
Job Description:
The India Justice Report (IJR) is inviting applications for the position of Researcher in New Delhi. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to evidence-based research on India’s justice delivery systems through data collection, analysis, and policy-oriented research. The selected candidate will support IJR’s mission of improving the efficiency, accessibility, and equity of justice delivery across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collecting and analysing publicly available data relating to the criminal justice system
• Conducting research using Right to Information (RTI) requests and related data sources
• Applying quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
• Preparing research reports, briefs, and analytical outputs
• Supporting justice sector assessment and policy research initiatives
• Contributing to evidence-based recommendations on justice delivery systems
Eligibility & Preference:
• 1–3 years of experience in research and analysis of the criminal justice system
• Strong experience in data analysis and research methodologies
• Familiarity with RTI-related data collection and documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Interest in justice sector reforms, governance, and public policy research
