About YLCube Foundation

The Young Leaders for Legal Literacy Foundation (YLCube Foundation) is a not-for-profit organisation that engages in socio-legal research and promotes legal literacy and legal aid across states and union territories in India. It is an initiative aimed at motivating and guiding young students to pursue a principled path in their personal and professional lives through engagement with experienced legal professionals, research, and exchange of ideas.

The foundation has produced over 30+ research reports in allied areas of law, conducted legal literacy programmes in over 100 districts across India, and has engaged with 5000+ students of law and allied fields. YLCube Foundation has been recognised by the International Criminal Court (The Hague), the United Nations Harmony with Nature Programme, and has received a grant for volunteer work from International Bridges for Justice, Switzerland. It has also collaborated with various public institutions and universities in India and abroad, including the University of Oxford’s Oxford Pro Bono Publico and the Clinton Global Initiative University.

The think tank branch of YLCube Foundation functions in the areas of research, legal blogs, internships, e-classes, and research centres on Environmental Law, Criminal Law, and Intellectual Property Rights, all on a pro bono basis.

About the Internship

The Publication Department at the Young Leaders for Legal Literacy Foundation (YLCube Foundation) is recruiting Research Associates and Interns for the following Centres and Desks:

  1. Criminal Law Centre

Project:  Sentencing Policy

Centre Lead: Mr. Saahas Arora (LL.B, MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice, University of Oxford, Legal Publisher)

Co-Lead: Mr. Tanishk Goyal ( LLM (Harvard Law School), Advocate at Allahabad High Court)

  1. International Relations Centre

-Project 1: Assessing the Feasibility of Democracy as a Model of Governance

-Project 2: Beyond Borders: The African and Indian diasporas as mirrors of colonial and post-colonial exchange

Centre Lead: Ms. Shanmitha Bhogadi (LL.B, DSNLU)

Co-Lead: Ms. Harshita Pande (LL.B, MNLU)

  1. Intellectual Property Rights Centre

Centre Lead: Ms. Sneha ( LLM (IP Law), Brunel University of London),

  1. Environmental Policy and Sustainable Action Centre

– Project: The Bharat Model of ESG

  1. Legal History

– Project: Narratives on Constituent Assembly

Project lead: Nitish Rai Parwani, University of Oxford

Eligibility:

Preferably a regular student. Young professionals from law or allied fields may also apply

– Strong writing skills and familiarity with legal citations

Time Period

Two Months (Mandatory) / Three Months (Desirable) with flexible working hours

Mode of Work

Hybrid. (Mostly work from home. Occasional visits to archives or courts for interviews may be required.)

Note: No financial transaction is involved at any stage of the program. All project leads, researchers, and interns work on a pro bono basis at YLCube Foundation.

Perks

Interns will be provided with internship certificates. Special workshops on legal writing will also be conducted during the internship period.
