Amazon is hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations in India.
This is a Gurugram-based role on a fixed term of 3 years, combining legal advisory with company secretarial responsibilities.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will function as both legal counsel and company secretary, working closely with sales, marketing, product, and cross-functional teams. The role requires strategic legal advisory along with corporate governance oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
• Advising on corporate law and regulatory matters
• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
• Ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and other applicable Indian laws
• Managing board meetings, resolutions, and statutory filings
• Overseeing corporate governance and regulatory compliance frameworks
This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and regulatory governance.
Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of legal experience
• Experience in a mix of corporate law firm and in-house environments
• Experience in contracting and legal compliance review
• Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts
• LL.B. from a recognized Indian university
• Associate Membership (ACS) with ICSI and valid membership
• Ability to interpret and apply Indian laws in a business context
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a high-growth technology company
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecom, or cloud services
• Understanding of intellectual property, competition law, and privacy issues
