The NLIU Legal Aid Clinic, National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, is set to organise the 5th NLIU LKS Paralegal Workshop & Training Programme (WTP) from 28th February to 1st March 2026. The two-day programme aims to strengthen grassroots legal awareness and equip students with practical skills essential for effective community-based legal service.
The Workshop & Training Programme will feature expert-led discussions, interactive training sessions, and competitive academic events, providing participants with hands-on exposure to the functioning and impact of legal aid mechanisms in India.
This year’s edition will host two flagship competitions:
- Client Counselling Competition – designed to test participants’ practical legal knowledge, client-handling skills, and ethical understanding.
- Legal Aid Clinic Presentation Competition (Best Practices) – offering institutions a platform to showcase innovative models, outreach initiatives, and impactful community engagement strategies adopted by their Legal Aid Clinics.
The programme is being organised in collaboration with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (LKS), a leading law firm in India. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes exceeding ₹80,000 and may also secure internship opportunities at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan.
The initiative seeks to bring together law students, paralegals, and legal aid volunteers from institutions across the country to promote dialogue on access to justice and strengthen institutional legal aid frameworks.
Registrations are open until 12th February 2025.
Through this flagship event, the NLIU Legal Aid Clinic continues its commitment to advancing clinical legal education and fostering a culture of social responsibility among future legal professionals.
