Ashwathh Legal is looking to onboard a dedicated IP Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of core experience in IP Prosecution, particularly in Trademarks. This role is part of our Prosecution team and involves managing the full lifecycle of Trademark, Copyright, and Design matters.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional who can work independently in a fast-paced, paperless environment.
Key Responsibilities
• End-to-end prosecution lifecycle management: availability searches, filings, registrations, renewals
• Drafting responses to Examination Reports (FERs) and office actions
• Handling oppositions, counter-statements, evidence affidavits, rectification and cancellation proceedings
• Appearing before the Trade Marks Registry and Copyright Office for hearings
• Assisting the Litigation team on IP disputes, including research, briefs, and drafting notices
• Managing deadlines and updating client portfolios using internal matter management systems
Eligibility & Qualifications
• LL.B. from a recognised law school
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Trademark Prosecution at an IP law firm
• Strong working knowledge of the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and the Copyright Act, 1957
• Excellent drafting and legal research skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat; comfort with electronic file management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
