The International Institute of Air and Space Law (IIASL), Leiden University, in collaboration with the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law, is pleased to announce the first joint Leiden & McGill Academic Workshop on Air & Space Law.

This Workshop provides a high-level academic forum for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and doctoral candidates working in Air Law and Space Law to present and discuss original, cutting-edge research. The objective is to foster rigorous scholarly exchange, advance contemporary debates in the field, and offer constructive peer feedback in an intellectually engaging setting.

Who should submit?

  • Academics and researchers in Air Law and Space Law

  • PhD candidates and early-career scholars

  • Practitioners with a strong research focus

Themes & Scope:
Submissions may address doctrinal, regulatory, policy-oriented, or interdisciplinary issues within air and space law, including emerging challenges and future-facing legal developments.

  • Deadline: 31 March 2026

  • Selected contributors will be invited to present their papers at the Workshop in Leiden.

This joint initiative by two of the world’s leading centres for air and space law scholarship aims to create a meaningful academic dialogue and strengthen global collaboration in this rapidly evolving field.
