VJ Mathew & Co., an international law firm established in 1983, is hiring Junior Legal Associates with 1–2 years PQE to join its litigation team. The firm is known for its long-standing reputation, ethical practice standards, and credibility, and is looking for candidates interested in a serious, long-term litigation practice.
Position Details
Role: Legal Associate (Litigation)
Location: Cochin, Kerala
PQE: 1–2 years (mandatory)
Joining: Immediate joiners preferred
Key Responsibilities
• Legal research and issue-based analysis
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents
• Assisting senior counsel in drafting and court presentations
• Independent court appearances when required
• Reviewing and summarising legal documents and agreements
• Client and stakeholder communication
• Email-based client coordination
• Case preparation, file management, and documentation
• E-filing and physical filing of cases
• Administrative support for smooth office functioning
Eligibility & Skills
• LL.B / LL.M from a recognised university
• Enrolled with the Bar Council of India
• Excellent command over English and Malayalam
• Strong research, drafting, and writing skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Familiarity with Maritime Law will be a strong advantage

Remuneration
Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and overall profile.
