Hiring Alert | In-House Counsel (Senior Associate Level)

Ascendion is inviting applications for an In-House Counsel (Senior Associate level) to join its legal team in Bengaluru. This role offers significant exposure to commercial, employment, and regulatory legal work across multiple international jurisdictions.

About the Role

The position involves providing end-to-end legal support to the business, with a strong focus on technology-driven commercial operations, employment matters, and data protection compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial and Business Support

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MSAs, SaaS and licensing agreements, NDAs, SLAs, DPAs, and vendor contracts
Acting as a business-embedded legal advisor, balancing risk with commercial objectives
Supporting contract lifecycle management, including templates and legal playbooks

Employment and HR Support

Advising on employment contracts, HR policies, and internal SOPs
Supporting disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee disputes
Advising on labour law compliance and employment-related risk management
Coordinating with HR teams and external counsel

Regulatory and Data Protection

Advising on regulatory requirements applicable to AI-led IT businesses
Supporting data protection and privacy compliance
Liaising with external counsel on regulatory and compliance matters

Jurisdictional Exposure

The role offers cross-border legal exposure across India, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Romania, Poland, the Philippines, and the USA.

Eligibility and Experience

LL.B. from a leading law school in India
Enrolled to practice law in India
3–4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with in-house exposure in a technology products or services company
Strong drafting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, scaling environment
