About:
Syracuse University’s Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) is seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead advanced quantitative research on disability policy. This full-time role offers the opportunity to design and execute studies, produce manuscripts for top journals, and contribute to high-impact policy and academic outputs in a supportive research environment.
Eligibility:

Ph.D. in Economics, Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Health, or related fields

7+ years of relevant experience in academic, government, non-profit, or research settings
-
3+ years of post-degree, full-time quantitative research experience
-
Expertise in causal inference methods (RCTs, quasi-experimental designs, advanced econometrics)

Strong applied data skills and knowledge of contemporary disability policies
Roles and Responsibilities:

Independently design and implement research projects, including analytic approaches and study protocols

Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets

Write reports, manuscripts, briefs, and presentations for academic, policy, and community audiences

Mentor students and junior staff on sponsored projects

Translate complex research findings into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders

Support administrative tasks for funded projects
