The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI), Europe’s leading think-tank dedicated to space policy, is offering a paid on-site Research Internship in Vienna starting January 2026. Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Technology & Innovation, Physics, or related fields

  • Strong interest and understanding of space policy and the global space ecosystem

  • Excellent analytical and writing skills

  • Ability to work in teams and navigate intercultural settings

  • Strong organisational and impact-oriented thinking abilities

  • Excellent command of English (written and oral)

  • Open to EU/EEA and non-EU citizens

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research including literature review, data collection, and data analysis

  • Support stakeholder consultations through interviews and surveys

  • Contribute to development and maintenance of datasets and analytical tools

  • Assist in preparing methodologies for research and policy studies

  • Draft and edit reports, policy briefs, and analyses

  • Support the organisation of workshops, conferences, and events

  • Participate in project teams and contribute to emerging research areas under ESPI2040

  • Engage in creative problem-solving and contribute new ideas to support ESPI’s mission
