About:
The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), under the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), is seeking a Research Adviser to lead socio-economic impact assessments of internal displacement. The role involves developing robust methodologies, generating actionable insights, and producing policy-relevant, donor-ready outputs.
Eligibility:

Advanced degree (Master’s required, PhD preferred) in economics, development studies, disaster risk management, environmental studies, statistics, or related fields

7–10 years of relevant experience in applied research, socio-economic analysis, or policy-focused assessments

Strong quantitative skills; proficiency in R, STATA, Python, or similar tools

Experience coordinating consultants, managing donor-funded projects, and multi-stakeholder engagement

Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset
Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead design and improvement of socio-economic impact assessment methodologies

Conduct data analysis, estimations, ground-truthing, and validation of results

Coordinate consultants, research partners, and peer reviewers to ensure quality

Draft policy briefs, reports, and other publications

Represent IDMC in technical workshops, donor meetings, and dissemination events
