The editors of the International Handbook of Legal Language & Communication: From Text to Semiotics (Springer Nature) are inviting expressions of interest for contributions to Section 46: Heritage Law & Digital Preservation.
This global, encyclopedic project brings together nearly 1,000 contributors to explore how law communicates through text, sound, image, and gesture.
Section 46 focuses on the legal, linguistic, and technological dimensions of protecting cultural heritage in the digital age.
Eligibility:

Academics, researchers, practitioners, and experts working in cultural heritage law, digital preservation, linguistics, technology, or related interdisciplinary fields.

Individuals able to contribute original work aligned with the scope of Heritage Law, Cultural Preservation, Digital Practices, or AI-enabled heritage frameworks.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Submit a 250–450 word abstract on a topic aligned with Heritage Law and Digital Preservation.

Engage with themes such as legal frameworks for cultural heritage, AI in preservation, multilingual legal challenges, digital cultural practices, public participation, and case studies.

If selected, prepare a full paper of 7,000–8,000 words by November 2026.

Contribute to a major international reference work published by Springer.
