About:
The Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the London School of Economics is inviting applications for a Research Assistant (Pre-Doctoral) position within its Education and Skills Programme. This one-year role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on youth criminal justice and education policy in England, under the guidance of Dr Rui Costa, Dr Nikhil Datta, and Dr Matteo Sandi.
Eligibility:
Applicants must hold:

An undergraduate degree in Economics or another quantitative discipline, and

A Master’s degree in Economics or related quantitative field, qualifying for PhD-level entry (to be completed by the start date).
Additional requirements: -
Proficiency in Stata or similar software for large-scale data analysis.

Eligibility to work with the DfE-MoJ linked administrative dataset in a secure UK data environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Residency in the UK is mandatory.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Support the project ‘Diversion and Structural Change in the Youth Criminal Justice System’, funded by the Youth Endowment Fund.

Work on associated projects examining the intersection of education and criminal justice.

Analyse large datasets, contribute to research design, and assist in drafting publications and policy briefs.
