The School of Public Administration (SPA) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a tenured, junior Associate Professor position specializing in Public Policy. This full-time, 9-month, benefits-eligible academic role will begin in August 2026 at FAU’s Boca Raton campus. The School seeks an emerging or established scholar with expertise in public policy process theory and research, who can contribute to both teaching and research excellence within one of the nation’s top 75 public affairs programs.

Eligibility:

  • PhD in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field.

  • Must currently hold tenure and rank of Associate Professor, or have a portfolio suitable for tenure upon hire.

  • Strong scholarly record with publications in high-impact journals.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.

  • Proven record of service to the university, profession, or community, and capacity for leadership roles.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to teach across modalities (in-person and online).

  • Evidence of mentoring students and contributing to academic engagement.

  • Preferred: Experience as an academic program coordinator or similar leadership role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in public policy process, implementation, evaluation, and public administration.

  • Conduct high-quality, externally supported research in public policy.

  • Supervise doctoral dissertations and contribute to PhD comprehensive exams.

  • Coordinate Master’s programs (MPA and MNM), serving as the primary academic advisor.

  • Participate actively in university, community, and professional service.

Location:
Boca Raton, Florida.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
