The University of San Francisco Center for Asia Pacific Studies invites submissions for the next issue of its interdisciplinary journal, Asia Pacific Perspectives. This issue will be an open issue, showcasing diverse and innovative research across the social sciences and humanities that focus on the Asia Pacific region. The journal especially encourages comparative and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the region’s contemporary and historical issues.

Eligibility:
Open to academics, researchers, and practitioners across disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, history, political science, literature, and cultural studies, whose work engages with the Asia Pacific region.

Categories for Submission:

  • Full-Length Articles: 9,000–12,000 words (including abstract, footnotes, and bibliography). These will undergo a peer-review process.

  • Think Pieces: 3,000–5,000 words. Focus on contemporary issues and developments, ideally by established scholars.

  • Book Reviews: 700–1,200 words. Reviews of recent books (published within the last 3 years) on Asia Pacific studies. Selected reviewers will receive a complimentary copy of the book.

  • Photo Essays: 1,250–2,000 words with 10–15 high-quality photos (300 PPI or higher).
