About:
The Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI) is offering two paid full-time research fellowships for the year 2026 under its Afghanistan Programme. The fellowships aim to support Afghan researchers, scholars, and human rights practitioners in conducting in-depth research on critical human rights and gender equality issues affecting Afghanistan. The initiative seeks to strengthen the analytical knowledge base and contribute to informed public debate and policy engagement.
Eligibility:
- 
Open to Afghan nationals engaged in academic, policy, or human rights work. 
- 
Applicants should demonstrate strong research skills and a clear interest in human rights, gender equality, and Afghanistan-focused studies. 
- 
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required. 
Roles and Responsibilities:
- 
Conduct independent or collaborative research on human rights and gender-related themes in Afghanistan. 
- 
Engage with RWI’s research network and participate in knowledge-sharing activities. 
- 
Produce analytical outputs and contribute to public discourse through publications or events.
