Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies invites applications for the position of Professor of Global Public Policy and Director of the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future. Established in 2000, the Pardee Center conducts interdisciplinary research on issues shaping humanity’s long-term future—such as climate change, technology, and governance. The appointment will be at the rank of Professor (with tenure) and is expected to begin on July 1, 2026.

Eligibility:

  • Open to scholars from all disciplines relevant to international affairs and public policy.

  • Must possess a demonstrated record of interdisciplinary research addressing globally significant issues.

  • Policy experience or evidence of policy engagement is highly desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operations of the Pardee Center, including research affiliates, seminars, and staff.

  • Lead fundraising initiatives and strategic direction for the Center.

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses within the Pardee School.

  • Mentor MA and undergraduate students and contribute to the academic life of Boston University.
