The Centre for Migration Studies (University of Ghana), in collaboration with the Migration Policy Centre, is hosting a two-day international conference titled “Bridging the Gap? Rethinking Engagement Between Migration Research, Policies and Practices” on 23–24 April 2026 at the University of Ghana, Legon. The event celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Centre and foregrounds African perspectives, power relations across scales, and decentered approaches that challenge entrenched narratives in migration research.

Eligibility:

  • Researchers, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in migration studies.

  • Contributions can be empirical, conceptual, theoretical, or methodological.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Selected participants will:

  • Present their papers during conference sessions.

  • Engage in discussions on bridging gaps between research, policy, and practice in African migration contexts.

  • Contribute to a critical rethinking of Eurocentric perspectives in migration scholarship.
