Democracy Reporting International (DRI) has opened applications for STARLIGHT 2.0, an intensive training and mentorship programme designed to empower lawyers, NGO legal staff, and human rights defenders to effectively use the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in national and European litigation. The programme seeks to strengthen democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of fundamental rights across Europe.

Practicing lawyers engaged in strategic or public interest litigation

Legal staff of NGOs working on human rights, rule of law, or democracy-related issues

Human rights defenders with litigation experience within the EU
Roles and Responsibilities:
Selected participants will:

Participate in thematic and skill-building workshops in Berlin

Engage in online legal clinics to work on real-life case studies

Receive mentorship from leading litigators and scholars

Join a European network of professionals dedicated to advancing rights-based advocacy
