About the Programme
The Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota is inviting applications for its fully funded PhD programme in Public Affairs (Fall 2026). The programme is globally recognised for its interdisciplinary approach and commitment to addressing pressing public policy challenges.

Research Areas
Applicants will have the opportunity to work with Professor Caroline Krafft on themes including:

  • Development

  • Labour

  • Education

  • Gender

  • Early Childhood Development (ECD)

  • Inequality

While Professor Krafft’s geographic expertise lies in the Middle East and North Africa, she also advises students working on other regions.

Eligibility

  • Strong academic background in public policy, social sciences, or related fields

  • Demonstrated interest in one or more of the research areas listed above

  • Commitment to pursuing a career in research, teaching, or policy practice
