About the Organisation
The Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, established in 1971, is a leading centre for education and research in peace and conflict studies. The department offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes and is home to around 90 staff members and 1,000 students annually.

Eligibility
Candidates must hold a PhD in political science or a related field, with a proven research record (preferably peer-reviewed publications) relevant to the project theme. Expertise in political behavior, democratic values, or advanced quantitative research methods (including survey and field experiments) is required. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities
Selected candidates will contribute to the project Political Violence in Democracies, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research in collaboration with the project lead and team.

  • Designing and coordinating quantitative data collection and analysis.

  • Publishing in high-impact journals.

  • Participating in limited departmental teaching.
