About the Role:
Durham Law School invites applications for a Career Development Fellowship in Climate Law. This is a fixed-term, full-time position for three years, offering early-career academics tailored support to develop their research, teaching, and professional skills. Fellows will join a world-class law school community, gaining mentoring and protected time to build a strong foundation for future academic roles.

Eligibility:

  • Law graduates with a PhD (or near completion), normally within 8 years of award (career breaks for parental leave or health reasons considered)

  • Interest and/or expertise in climate law, sustainability, international law, or related fields

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop internationally excellent research or scholarship and a personal research plan aligned with departmental strategy

  • Teach and co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students; contribute to curriculum development

  • Engage in departmental and university citizenship activities, including committee work and professional development

  • Participate in academic and administrative functions of the department, with support for HEA membership and leadership in teaching and research
