About the Scholarship:
The Melbourne Research Scholarship is offered by the University of Melbourne to high-achieving domestic and international students pursuing graduate research degrees. With over 350 awards available each year, this prestigious scholarship supports both tuition and living costs.
Eligibility:

Must have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, or
-
Be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
Benefits:

100% fee offset for up to 2 years (Masters by Research) or up to 4 years (Doctoral).

Stipend of $38,500 per year (2025 rate) for up to 2 years (Masters) or 3.5 years (Doctoral).

Relocation allowance: $2,000 (within Australia) or $3,000 (from outside Australia).

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students requiring a visa.

Total benefit amount: up to $135,000.
Selection Criteria:
Awards are made based on academic merit and research potential, with consideration of prior qualifications, professional experience, publications, or specialist achievements.

No separate application is required if you apply for a graduate research course by its deadline.
