The Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, is inviting applications for its upcoming virtual short course on the Protection of Forcibly Displaced Persons in Africa, scheduled to take place from 3 – 7 November 2025. The course will cover fundamental legal concepts, critical challenges in treaty interpretation, and rights-based approaches to durable solutions for forced displacement in Africa.
Eligibility
This course is designed for legal professionals, policymakers, academics, civil society actors, and students with a demonstrated interest in human rights, international law, and migration studies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Selected participants will be expected to:

Engage actively in online lectures and discussions.

Contribute to case study analyses and practical exercises.

Develop insights into rights-based frameworks for addressing forced displacement in Africa.
