About the Role
Perkins Coie LLP, a leading international law firm recognized as one of Fortune’s Best Places to Work, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Technology Transactions & Privacy team. This position offers the opportunity to advise leading companies on critical privacy, data protection, and product counseling issues, while working on emerging areas such as AI, health data, and adtech. The role is available in multiple offices across the United States, including New York, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago.
Eligibility

3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally with prior peer law firm practice.

Strong background in U.S. federal and state privacy laws.

Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred:

Developing internal data protection programs.

Conducting privacy assessments and data mapping.
-
Performing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
-
Drafting privacy policies and negotiating data processing agreements.
-
Advising on high-risk privacy matters (AI, adtech, biometric data, health data, children’s/teen privacy).

Strong academic credentials required.
Roles and Responsibilities

Advise clients on compliance with U.S. federal and state privacy laws.

Support companies in developing and implementing internal data protection programs.

Conduct privacy risk assessments, impact assessments, and maintain compliance documentation.

Draft, negotiate, and review privacy-related agreements and policies.

Provide strategic counsel on complex and cutting-edge privacy issues across industries.

Collaborate with colleagues across offices to deliver practical, client-focused solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual base compensation range: $260,000 – $390,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience).

Annual discretionary bonus eligibility.
