Opportunity for Research Associate – Digital Justice Journeys at University of Kent – Kent Law School

About the Role
The University of Kent is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to a funded project on Digital Justice Journeys. The project examines how ordinary people navigate the increasingly digital justice system—exploring both the opportunities and obstacles faced when traditional pathways to legal resolution shift online.

The role involves conducting original research, analysing and interpreting data, preparing publications, and managing project communications in close collaboration with the project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage independent research activity in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Contribute to the design and methodology of the project.
  • Analyse data and prepare research outputs, including journal articles and reports.
  • Manage internal and external communications related to the project.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • PhD in socio-legal studies, law, anthropology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to write research reports and academic publications.
  • Strong interest in the welfare state and the digitalisation of justice pathways.
