Opportunity for Administrative and Legal Roles – International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS)

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) is committed to the highest standards of competence, integrity, impartiality, and discretion. The Tribunal recruits staff in both Professional and General Service categories and periodically hires temporary staff and Junior Professional Officers to support its Registry’s work.

Eligibility:

  • For General Service roles (e.g., Administrative Assistant – G-7): Open to qualified candidates with relevant administrative experience.
  • For Temporary Staff: Individuals able to provide secretarial, administrative, legal, or linguistic assistance during Tribunal sessions.
  • For Junior Professional Officer Programme: Young professionals interested in serving in the Legal Office or other Registry departments.
  • Working languages: English and French

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support, secretarial assistance, and other general service tasks
  • Legal and research assistance for Tribunal sessions and cases (for temporary staff and Junior Professional Officers)
  • Contributing to smooth functioning of the Registry while maintaining professional ethics and discretion
