Opportunity for Data Privacy Specialist – Bangalore, India

About the Role
A leading organisation is seeking a Data Privacy Specialist to join its Legal team in Bangalore, India. The role is full-time and requires 3–4 years of experience in data privacy. The specialist will be responsible for driving privacy compliance, managing the Privacy Information Management System (PIMS), ensuring vendor compliance, and supporting initiatives in both traditional data processing and AI-driven technologies.

Eligibility

  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience in data privacy.
  • Strong background in executing PIAs, DPIAs, vendor due diligence, and AI-specific privacy assessments.
  • Familiarity with global privacy laws and governance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, UK DPA, PIPEDA, EU AI Act, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred: IAPP certifications such as CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the PIMS framework across all entities.
  • Conduct PIAs, DPIAs, AI-specific impact assessments, and data mapping.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed Privacy by Design and Ethical AI principles.
  • Lead compliance monitoring, internal audits, and effectiveness reviews.
  • Carry out Ethical AI assessments, focusing on fairness, accountability, and transparency.
  • Oversee vendor due diligence for data handling and AI model compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready data protection records.
  • Support privacy incident response, breach notifications, and Subject Access Requests.
  • Deliver privacy and ethical AI training programs and evaluate their impact.
  • Assist in ISO 27701/27001 implementation.
