About the Internship:
We are inviting applications from law and public policy students for a remote internship as Legislative Research Interns. This role offers a valuable opportunity to work directly with Members of Parliament (MPs) and gain practical experience in the fields of legislative research, policymaking, and governance.
Position Overview:
As a Legislative Research Intern, you will support MPs by:

Conducting research on ongoing legislation, policy matters, and governance challenges.

Drafting parliamentary questions, notices, letters, and policy briefs.

Gaining insight into how laws are shaped and policies are formulated at the national level.

Contributing to high-impact research that influences real-time decision-making.
Work Environment:

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth research on legislation, policies, and political developments.

Draft parliamentary instruments such as questions, notices, and official correspondence.

Prepare concise, informative policy briefs and legal opinions.

Review bills and analyze their potential impact.

Engage with stakeholders including policy experts, civil society, and government officials.

Support MPs in framing effective, data-backed policy recommendations.

Summarize key findings into actionable insights.
Skills and Qualifications:

Strong research and analytical skills: Ability to assess legal and policy issues thoroughly.

Excellent communication skills: Both written and verbal proficiency required.

Attention to detail: Essential for drafting and reviewing policy documents.

Proficiency in MS Office: Particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Duration and Stipend:

Duration: 1 to 2 months

Time Commitment: Minimum 5 hours per day, 6 days a week

Stipend: ₹3,000 – ₹5,000 per month (performance-based)
