Opportunity: Military Law Research Associate – Indian Army Litigation Wing
The Litigation Wing of the Indian Army is inviting applications from Indian nationals for the position of Military Law Research Associate on a contractual basis. This is a unique opportunity for aspiring legal professionals to work closely with service law and administrative litigation, while gaining valuable, hands-on experience with the armed forces.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:

LL.B. with at least 55% aggregate marks from a Bar Council of India-recognised institution
-
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Advocate/Research Associate/Legal Assistant in a court, government office, reputed law firm, or under a senior advocate
-
Must have cleared the All India Bar Examination (AIBE)
Desirable:
-
Postgraduate degree in law
-
Strong research and analytical skills
-
Proficiency in legal databases (e.g. SCC Online, Manupatra, Westlaw)

Working knowledge of MS Office and general computer operations
Disqualifications:
-
Simultaneous engagement elsewhere
-
Involvement in criminal proceedings or named in FIRs
-
Facing disciplinary action from any legal or professional body

Honorarium
-
₹50,000 per month

Key Terms & Conditions

Initial engagement for 6 months, extendable based on need and performance

Not an offer of employment or guarantee of future employment with the Army or Ministry of Defence

Full-time, on-site engagement only — no parallel jobs or academic pursuits allowed without permission

Office hours as per location; may require work on weekends or holidays as needed

15 days of leave permitted with prior approval

Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols, cyber security, and dress code
-
Formal dress code required; black trousers, white shirt, tie, black coat & formal shoes for men; women may also wear black/white salwar suits or sarees

Immediate termination for breach of terms or misconduct

Must sign Non-Disclosure Agreement before starting
