About the Opportunity
Amazon’s Legal Department is seeking a qualified lawyer and Company Secretary to join AWS in Gurugram. This is a fixed-term position for 3 years, designed to support AWS’s growing operations in India by integrating legal advisory functions with core company secretarial responsibilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as both legal counsel and company secretary for AWS India.
  • Work closely with internal teams across sales, marketing, product, and other departments to provide legal and strategic support.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, including regulatory filings, board meetings, and resolutions.
  • Advise on compliance with Indian corporate laws, especially the Companies Act, and other applicable regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and corporate documents.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and apply them in a business context.
  • Provide input on data privacy, intellectual property, competition law, and IT-related legal concerns.

Eligibility Criteria

  • LL.B. from a recognized Indian university
  • Associate Company Secretary (ACS) with a valid membership from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience, including:
    • Work in corporate law at a law firm or legal department
    • Experience in contract management, compliance, and corporate governance
    • Familiarity with interpreting Indian laws and advising within a business environment
  • Desirable:
    • In-house experience in a technology company
    • Understanding of technology agreements, IP, outsourcing, and data protection laws
