About the Digital Policy Fellowship

As digital technologies transform economies and governance worldwide, India faces novel and urgent regulatory challenges—ranging from AI governance and data privacy, to platform regulation, digital competition, and cybersecurity.

The Digital Policy Fellowship is a two-month intensive program (June–July 2025) designed for final-year students and early-career professionals. Fellows will engage in real-time policy debates, produce original research, and receive mentorship from leading policy experts.


Key Opportunities & Learning Outcomes

  • Author a peer-reviewed Issue Brief with Esya Centre

  • Conduct research on digital competition, AI regulation, data governance, and more

  • Learn survey-based primary research and data-driven analysis techniques

  • Receive mentorship from senior researchers and external experts

  • Attend stakeholder events with government, industry, and civil society leaders


Eligibility

  • Final-year students in Law, Economics, Public Policy, or Technology

  • Young professionals with 0–2 years’ experience in relevant sectors

  • Demonstrated interest in digital policy (through coursework, internships, writing, etc.)


Stipend

INR 20,000 per month


Fellowship Duration

June – July 2025
Hybrid model: 2 days/week in person at New Delhi office

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a case discussion interview focused on a real-world digital policy problem.
