About Brodie & Brodie

Job Description
We are looking for a recent law school graduate or a soon-to-be graduate to join our firm. The position will start at 25 hours per week, with the opportunity to transition to full-time (40 hours per week) within six months. This is an ideal role for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in both law and advocacy, with potential for growth into a leadership role overseeing paralegals and advocacy initiatives.

Legal Work:
- Draft correspondence and legal documents, including letters, claim packages, pleadings, and discovery responses.
- Order, review, and confirm medical records for case preparation.
- Manage the firm’s calendar, ensuring deadlines and appointments are met.
- Assist in preparing case files for mediation, arbitration, or trial.
Advocacy Work:
- Develop and manage cycling advocacy programs focused on safety and awareness.
- Build and maintain relationships with biking organizations and advocacy groups.
- Track and coordinate donations made to advocacy efforts or related organizations.
- Represent the firm at cycling events and advocacy initiatives (optional).
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school (or expected graduation within the next six months).
- Member in good standing (or anticipated membership) in a bar association.
- Strong legal writing and research skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in advocacy and passion for cycling is a strong plus.
- Willingness to occasionally work nontraditional hours to accommodate time differences or advocacy events.
- Flexible, team-oriented, and eager to learn and grow professionally.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, working with Americans—many Indian professionals initially find our direct communication style challenging.
Additional Opportunities
- Optional travel to Boston for in-person work or firm events, with all travel expenses fully covered.
Cultural Note
American workplace culture is often direct and candid, with feedback given openly and constructively. Being adaptable to this communication style while maintaining professionalism is key to succeeding in this role.
