The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution at The National Law Institute
University, Bhopal, is honored to host the 13th edition of the NLIU-INADR International
Mediation Tournament, 2025, scheduled to take place from March 28th to 30th, 2025.
This prestigious tournament is being organized in collaboration with the esteemed International
Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR), reaffirming their shared commitment to
advancing awareness and excellence in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
INADR, a globally recognized organization, is dedicated to promoting the principles and
practice of dispute resolution. Established in 2002 to enhance awareness and efficiency in
ADR, the organization provides a platform for professionals to collaborate, exchange
insights, and develop best practices. The tournament shall witness participation from
universities at both national and international levels.
Preceding the tournament, three specialized training sessions will be conducted jointly
by Mr. John Lag and Mr. Dennis Favaro. These sessions will provide participants and ADR
enthusiasts with an opportunity to engage with contemporary issues prevalent in negotiation
practices. Mr. Lag, a highly respected figure in the ADR sphere and a longstanding supporter
of INADR, brings extensive experience as both a mediator and educator. His contributions
have been instrumental in promoting mediation as an effective and peaceful method of
conflict resolution. Similarly, Mr. Favaro, a distinguished member of INADR and a
passionate advocate for ADR practices, has played a significant role in advancing mediation
and conflict resolution on both national and international fronts.
On the second day, participating teams will engage in three Preliminary Rounds,
wherein each team member will assume the roles of Client, Counsel, and Mediator at least
once. The cumulative scores from these rounds will determine the top four teams advancing
to the Semi-Final Rounds, from which the highest-scoring teams will qualify for the Finals.
The tournament will be judged by a panel of highly qualified and experienced ADR
professionals. The event is supported by several distinguished collaborators, including Equi
Law Partners, Mediate Guru, AIADR, The PACT, ASCL, LiveLaw, and Katcheri.
This event aspires to provide an enriching experience for everyone, while fostering
the widespread adoption of ADR. We extend our best wishes to all participants and eagerly
anticipate the innovative solutions and strategies that will emerge throughout the tournament.
