About the Event

On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025, the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR), UPES School of Law, is organizing a panel discussion to explore the evolving intersection of music, technology, and intellectual property (IP) in the digital age.

Key topics include:

  • Music Creation & Distribution – The impact of AI and digital platforms on music production.
  • Copyright & Digital Innovation – Legal frameworks for protecting music in the digital era.
  • Unauthorized Sharing & Piracy – Challenges and solutions in combating online infringement.

Distinguished Panellists

The event will feature three globally renowned experts in Intellectual Property Law:

  • Professor Shubha Ghosh – Crandall Melvin Professor of Law & Director of the Technology Commercialization Curricular Program, Syracuse University College of Law
  • Professor Ananth Padmanabhan – Professor and Dean, VMLS, Chennai
  • Professor Johanna Gibson – Herchel Smith Professor of Intellectual Property Law, Queen Mary University of London
