5th St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara National Moot Court Competition, 2025

Christ Academy Institute of Law (CAIL), Bengaluru, invites participation in the 5th St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara National Moot Court Competition, 2025, a premier national moot promoting legal excellence and advocacy skills. This year’s moot problem focuses on the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over war crimes committed by officials of non-party States, exploring key issues of sovereignty, international accountability, and self-defense in international humanitarian law (IHL).


Eligibility

Open to bona fide undergraduate law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year law programs from recognized universities.

Team Composition

  • Each team must have 2 or 3 members.
  • Three-member teams: Two speakers and one researcher.
  • Two-member teams: Both act as speakers.
  • No observers or extra members allowed.
  • One team per institution.

Important Dates

  • Provisional Registration Deadline: 21st March 2025
  • Final Registration & Fee Payment Deadline: 3rd April 2025
  • Last Date for Moot Problem Clarifications: 5th April 2025
  • Clarifications Release: 8th April 2025
  • Memorial Submission (Online): 12th April 2025
  • Semi-Finals & Finals (Offline): 17th – 18th May 2025
  • Venue: Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru, Karnataka
