The Lost Stories is the annual literary magazine of NLUJA Assam, published under the Literary and Debating Committee. It serves as a creative outlet for students to express their artistic and literary talents beyond academic writing.
Call for Submissions
The 5th edition of The Lost Stories welcomes original and unpublished submissions across various creative and literary formats.
Theme
Submissions are open-ended – contributors can explore:
1. Personal reflections
2. Lifestyle topics
3. Broader social issues
4. Artistic and creative expressions
Who Can Submit?
Students, academicians, research scholars, and creative individuals are invited to contribute.
Submission Categories & Guidelines
Written Submissions
Articles: 1500-2000 words (excluding footnotes/endnotes) on any contemporary topic.
Poetry: Haikus, sonnets, limericks, or free verse (preferably within one page).
Prose: Stories (fictional/non-fictional), opinion pieces, essays, travelogues, book/film reviews (1000-1500 words).
✔ Font: Times New Roman
✔ Font Size: 12
✔ Line Spacing: 1.5
✔ Co-authorship: Allowed (up to 2 authors)
✔ Citations: Hyperlinked
✔ Plagiarism Limit: 10% (strictly enforced)
Visual & Fine Arts Submissions
Acceptable Formats:
✔ Photography, paintings, sketches, digital art, hand-drawn comics/manga strips.
✔ High-resolution images in .jpeg format (basic editing like color enhancement and cropping is allowed).
✔ No advanced editing/manipulation (e.g., adding or subtracting significant elements within the image).
