6th Masters Conference on Intellectual Property – RGSOIPL, IIT

About MCIP 6.0

Building upon the success of MCIP 1.0 up to 4.0 and 5.0, both nationally and internationally, we are pleased to introduce MCIP 6.0 in 2026, themed “Exploring the Interdisciplinary Context of IP for Global Progress”. The theme highlights how intellectual property interacts with technology, media, business, traditional knowledge and various fields of study to shape contemporary societies and economies. It emphasizes understanding IP not just as a legal tool but as driver of innovation cultural expression and equitable development at a global level. Within this broad framework, the conference will  encompass a broad range of sub themes that aims to showcase how Interdisciplinary and all-encompassing IP disclosure can be.

Our object is to offer a platform for master’s students, scholars and aspiring professionals from various domains  including law, engineering, science, philosophy, and any field related to the theme to engage a fruitful discussions, present their perspectives and participate in the wonderful array of events we have planned.

 

Event details

  1. Paper presentation

Eligibility:- PG students (of any domain), International PG students, Research scholars, Industry Professionals, Academicians and UG students (if their co-author falls in any of the other mentioned criteria).

 

Guidelines:- Abstract

The submission shall be made in doc/docx file by 20 February,2026. The word limit for the abstract is 400 words, including five keywords. The abstract should mention the following aspects of the paper:

  • Problem Statement
  • Objective
  • Methodology
  • A brief outline of the paper (tentative).

The document should also contain Author details: Name, Institution, Designation (Year), Contact number, Email ID.

The font shall be Times New Roman, Font Size – 12, Line Spacing -1.5, and in justified format. AI-Generated content will not be accepted and the authors have to give an undertaking mentioning that the content is not AI generated.

 

  1. Policy Drafting Competition

Eligibility:- UG and PG students

Guidelines:- The policy drafting competition will be on the theme: “Intellectual Property and Climate Change”. The policy submission will be in two phases: The first for a brief or abstract that explains the basic features and objectives of the policy at the time of registration.The final submission will as per the date announced.The participants will have to submit the elaborate policy brief of not more than 4000 words by 28 February 2026. The draft must be clear, concise and target the specific agenda. The final presentation shall be conducted on 15 March, 2026 and the panel’s decision will be based on the written and oral submissions of the participants (60% and 40% respectively). Each team will be given 10 minutes to present their policy to the panel.

 

  1. Short Video Making

Eligibility:- UG and PG students

Guidelines:-The submissions must be made by 28 February, 2026, and must adhere to the theme: “IP and Sports”. The duration of the video must not exceed 3 minutes and it must not include any obscene language, words, remarks, gestures.

 

Registration Fees

Common Registration fee for all events (only one fee for any combination of events):

  • Students and Research Scholars: Rs. 3000
  • Faculty: Rs. 4000
  • Industry: Rs. 5000
  • International Students: 50$
  • Students only attending without presentation or paper submission: Rs. 2000
