It gives us Immense Pleasure to inform you that The Legal Aid Society, Faculty of Law, Integral University in collaboration with Jus Corpus Law Journal is going to Organise its 3rd Edition of the National Online Extempore Competition on the Theme: “Fake News & Misinformation: Challenges to Democratic Discourse.”

The Theme of the Competition is in Corresponderende with the United Nations Goals of Sustainable Development, Goal 4 ‘Quality Education’ which ensures Inclusive and equitable quality education and promotes Lifelong earning for all, and Goal 16, which promotes Peaceful and Inclusive Society for Sustainable Development, Provide access to Justice for All and build effective, accountable and inclusive Institutions at all levels.

Suggestive Topics-
1) The Proliferation of the Fake news in the digital age.
2) The impact of Misinformation on public opinion.
3) Social Media as a breeding ground for fake news.
4) Fake news and its influence on elections.
5) The psychology of believing in fake news.

Note: The topics given here are only for reference, topics to each participant will be given randomly, Preserving the spirit of Extempore.

Rules of the Competition:
1) Organisers will provide the topic 7 minutes prior to the competition on Whatsapp group.
2) Each Contestant will be given 2-4 minutes to present their views on the given topic.
3) Two bells will be rung by organizers indicating the time of speaking, One at 2 min and the second at 4 min.
4) Exceeding the time limit will result in a Negative Marking
5) Contestants must open their videos while speaking.
6) Marking Criteria includes:
a) Clarity of thoughts
b) Speaking and Orating Skills
c) Knowledge of Facts
d) Way of Presentation
7) The decision of the panel of judges and the organising committee regarding evaluation will be final and binding.
8) Decency must be maintained and no unethical conduct will be tolerated.
9) A list of Topics will be provided 10 minutes prior to the competition, however keeping the nature of extempore, the topic given to each individual will be random.
