About the Moot Court Competition
The 1st SGU Moot Court Competition is the university’s flagship event, bringing together renowned legal practitioners and scholars. The event provides an opportunity for students to engage in a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating environment while also interacting with legal experts.
Key Features of the Competition:
|Prominent Legal Experts: Legal practitioners and scholars will judge the rounds, deliver keynote addresses, and offer insights.
Events: The competition includes memorial exchanges, preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final round, alongside cultural activities and a valedictory ceremony.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate law students enrolled in a recognized law course from any institution. Multiple teams may be sent from each participating institution.
Important Dates
22 April, 2025 – Last Date for Final Registration
24 April, 2025 – Last Date for Seeking Clarifications
25 April, 2025 – Release of Clarifications
26 April, 2025 – Submission of Soft Copies of Memorials
29 April, 2025 – Submission of Hard Copies of Memorials
29 April, 2025 – Inaugural Ceremony, Researchers’ Test & Exchange of Memorials
30 April, 2025 – Preliminary Rounds 1 & 2, Quarter Finals, & Cultural Event
1 May, 2025 – Semi Final Rounds, Final Round & Valedictory Ceremony

Best Team: ₹11,000/-
Runner Up: ₹5,100/-
Best Speaker (Male & Female): ₹2,100/- each
Best Researcher: ₹2,100/-
Participation Certificates: All participants will receive certificates.
