ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Animal Law Study Club at UPES Dehradun is thrilled to announce the 1st National Conference on Animal Law as a part and parcel of the flagship legal fest “Vidhi Utsav”, taking place virtually on April 5th 2024. We envision this to be a stupendous event, and believe collaborating with you would be an essential step towards that goal.

This conference embodies the spirit of advocacy for animal welfare, bringing together diverse perspectives to explore the symbiotic relationship between law and compassion. Through discussions, insights, and research, the conference aims to foster awareness and inspire action. In our interconnected world, the need for animal welfare and laws is paramount. Establishing comprehensive animal welfare laws is crucial for ensuring their well-being, preventing abuse, and preserving biodiversity. These laws not only reflect our moral responsibility toward fellow inhabitants but also contribute to the overall health of ecosystems. As we recognize the intricate ties between human and animal welfare, advocating for robust legal frameworks becomes imperative. Law has the potential to bring and power to drive change the degraded environment into its original shape.

This conference aims to discuss various existing legal and societal frameworks for the animal protection and welfare. We shall further discuss any deficiencies in the legal and other discipline and explores how to tackle those challenges in a better way.
