About the Client Counselling Committee

Founded in 2024, the Client Counselling Committee aims to enhance students’ legal skills by preparing them for real-world client interactions. Through simulated lawyer-client sessions, the competition sharpens advocacy, negotiation, and advisory abilities.

This competition provides law students with hands-on experience in client counselling, testing their legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical reasoning.

Mode of Competition: Hybrid

  • Preliminary Round (Online – March 17, 2025) – All registered teams compete.
  • Semi-Final (Offline – March 28, 2025) – Top 6 teams advance.
  • Final Round (Offline – March 29, 2025) – Top 2 teams compete for the title.

Eligibility & Team Composition

  • Open to students in any year of a 3-year or 5-year LLB program.
  • Each team must have two participants (Counsel 1 & Counsel 2).
  • A maximum of one team per institution is allowed.
  • A total of 30 teams will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis (may be extended).

Competition Structure & Rules

  • The case problem will be disclosed 24 hours in advance; client details will be revealed during the session.
  • Participants will be judged on their understanding of client needs, questioning techniques, legal analysis, and communication.
  • Formal courtroom attire (Indian/Western) is mandatory.
  • The official language is English.
  • Misconduct, unfair means, or disclosure of identity will result in disqualification.

Winner: Trophy + ₹12,000 + Internship + Certificate of Merit
Semi-Finalists: Internship + Certificate of Merit
Best Student Counsel (Prelim Round): ₹3,000 + Internship + Certificate
E-certificates & additional courses for all active participants.
